Introduction
Welcome to our vibrant learning hub, a family-owned and operated tuition centre steeped in rich history and a deep-seated passion for education. This engaging journey began more than 25 years ago with Ms Ong, a dedicated educator whose love for teaching was ignited right after her graduation from university in 1995. Ms Ong, initially offering one-on-one tuition, soon found herself overwhelmed by the sheer number of students eager to learn from her. Recognizing the need for expansion, she established a humble tuition centre nestled in the heart of Bedok at Block 524, her earnest endeavour thriving within a quaint rented room. If you've lived in Bedok North and are familiar with the tuition scene, the name "Ms Ong" might ring a bell.
In 2016, a new chapter unfolded as her son Marcus, an outperformer in the Sciences, particularly Physics, joined her enterprise. Starting with a small class of just three students, he stepped into the tuition scene under Ms Ong's watchful eyes. By the end of the year, it was clear that Marcus possessed the same innate ability to inspire and educate as his mother.
Today, our unique, family-centric model remains. Marcus continues to manage secondary level students with his profound understanding and interest of the Sciences, while Ms Ong provides primary level students with the strong educational foundation they need. Embark on this enriching learning journey with us as we continue to foster the love of learning in every student we welcome into our tuition centre family.
Our home
Our journey has seen us traverse multiple locations, each with its own unique stories and shared memories. After a fruitful 15 years of teaching at Bedok Block 524, private matters prompted Ms Ong to transition to Block 513, where she continued to shape young minds for another three years. However, the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic imposed an unforeseen twist in our story.
With tuition centres in Singapore facing stringent restrictions, we swiftly adapted to the changing times, transitioning to online classes. Despite the challenges, we remained committed to our students' education, offering these online classes at deeply discounted prices to ensure they remained on course, while keeping our cherished tuition centre afloat.
When the restrictions eased, we seized the opportunity to expand, moving to the spacious Block 418, a location four times larger than our previous one. Here, classes ran smoothly for three years until a disagreement with the landlord (landlord wanted to terminate the contact in order to live at our location), prompting us to seek a new home for our tuition centre.
Today, we are delighted to welcome you to our new home at Block 509. Through careful discussions with the landlord, we have secured this location for at least the next five years. Our continued commitment to providing a conducive learning environment has seen us enhance our new space, featuring 3 spacious classrooms fitted with fresh furnishings and equipment. We believe this new chapter will allow us to serve our students even better and foster an even deeper love for learning.
Our teaching style
Since our founding, we've found that tests and endless worksheets alone will not do the job.
We've innovatively harnessed the power of tutoring tools like Kahoot and Booklet to maximize our students' learning. These tools infuse a vibrant competitiveness among students, fostering a progressive learning environment, which we strongly believe is conducive to academic success (because let's face it, the majority of students don't enjoy the subjects they're being tutored in). The desire to outperform their peers, then, becomes an effective motivator for their progress.
Our approach involves routine quizzes, experiments, and competitions (with prizes too! Winners of Science quizzes get to have waffles with Marcus at a nearby bakery), followed by progress updates to parents. We leverage the collected data from these assessments, shared via dedicated Whatsapp groups, to monitor each student's academic pace and progress in their respective subjects at our center.
Nothing teaches you more than experiencing the power of the Science right in front of your eyes. Experiments form the cornerstone of our teachings here at Ong & Low Eduhub.
Furthermore, just look at those waffles! If that doesn't spur competition, I don't know what will... Haha

Youtube Channel
Every now and then, our students will request certain chapter they need help with. We provide support either through physical lessons or online tutorial videos that can serve as a supplementary layer of educational support to our students. This is a new service that we will be using extensively to educate and inspire our students outside the classroom.

Marcus demonstrates the effect of radiation (from sunlight). As the colour black is a better absorber of heat compared to white (Black reflects no colour components of light), the black balloon bursts, while the white balloon does not.
